Dean Farm Trust had their first open day on the 3rd September and what an event it was. Despite it raining during almost all of the event it was still an absolutely huge success and saw approximately 1500 visitors. The car park field was almost bursting, long queues for the fantastic food available and the cakes from Vics Vegan Bakes sold out! Luckily I managed to grab a slice of their strawberry cake before it all went (which was just delicious) and also a burger and corn dog from Sicily to Seattle before the queues got too long (I am very impatient when it comes to food).
It was just incredible to meet the animals at the sanctuary. So loved and cared for. Most were pretty inquisitive despite the rain and enjoyed the attention from the visitors. This was the first time for me seeing animals in a sanctuary and it was so humbling knowing that these beautiful creatures will get to live their happy lives out under the care and love of Mary and all at Dean Farm Trust.
Their open day was also our first donation to the Sanctuary too. 10% of A Kind Living profits will be donated to Dean Farm Trust and local animal advocacy group. Every time you purchase from A Kind Living you are not only buying a wonderful ethical garment, you are also helping the better the lives of animals :)
I'll leave you with a few photos of some of the gorgeous animals at Dean Farm Trust.
